Flowers:
Arranged in an elongated, purple-brown cluster (the spadix), partly enclosed by a yellowish green spathe which is about twice the height of the spadix when mature. The margins of the spathe are tinged purple and its tip is held upwards, not hanging down
Fruit:
Clustered green berries, maturing to bright orange; highly poisonous
Leaves:
Hairless, triangular to arrow-shaped, with an uneven, wrinkled surface and a dark-coloured midvein; up to 20 cm in length, on long stalks
