Flowers:
Flowerheads are yellow, tightly arranged in globular clusters (up to 40), and partially obscured by thick white woolly hairs. They are held a little way above the uppermost leaves. Each flowerhead contains a small number of disc florets, surrounded by narrow, bristle-tipped, yellowish phyllaries
Leaves:
Narrowly-lanceolate, upwards-pointing, woolly-hairy, with wavy edges and blunt tips. On erect stems that may branch at the base, and (more usually) towards the top
