Flowers:
Red in bud, becoming pink then pale blue to white, with a two stage corolla, cylindrical for the lower half, becoming wider (and lighter in colour) above. The purplish-green calyx is divided almost to the base into narrow, recurved lobes, blunt at the tip, and sparsely covered with short hairs. Flowers are pendent, in small clusters, initially coiled, becoming straighter as more buds open
