Flowers:
Usually pendent, attached by slender, hairless stalks, with a blue to purple bell-shaped corolla opening about 3/4 of its height to five triangular lobes, and supported by a much shorter green calyx, divided into five linear, thread-like lobes
Leaves:
Basal leaves (withered early in the season) are nearly round, with cordate bases, and long stalks, while the persistent stem leaves are much narrower, and stalkless. All are hairless
