Flowers:
Four greenish-white petals, in a cross-shape, alternating with four stamens bearing light brown, inwards-pointing anthers. At the base are four very small sepals. Flowers are produced in a flat-topped cluster, atop slightly downy stems, often coloured reddish-purple
Leaves:
Opposite, ovate, stalked, rounded at the base and pointed at the tip, up to 8 cm long, with a prominent midvein and two or three pairs of lateral veins
