In compound clusters, with the flowers, and each branch point, subtended by an opposite pair of leaf-like bracts, wider and more ovate than the leaves, but otherwise similar. Flowers have four yellow, crescent-shaped glands, a greenish fruit capsule, a group of stamens within a greenish, cup-shaped structure, and a central ovary with three stigmas
Leaves:
Hairless, obovate, and tapering towards the base. Crossed by a prominent midvein, extending to a small point at the tip
