Montiaceae

Only three of the worldwide total of over 200 species in the montiaceae (montia) family are found in the British Isles; claytonia sibirica, claytonia perfoliata and montia fontana. Plants have opposite, unlobed leaves, and flowers formed of two sepals and a tubular corolla with five spreading lobes. All species were formerly included in the portulacaceae (purslane) family.
