Flowers:
Up to 30 cm in diameter; four broad, green sepals and up to 25 similar-sized petals, usually pure white, less often orange or pink. At the center are a ring of numerous yellow to orange stamens. Flowers are held a few cm above the water surface, on stout stalks
Leaves:
Ovate to nearly round, palmately veined, up to 30 cm in length, with a leathery upper surface; attached by long stalks
