Six (sometimes seven or more) short, blunt-pointed sepals and the same number of longer (up to 10 mm) obovate white petals, reddish underneath, centred on a group of short stamens, which have white filaments and pale yellow anthers. Flowers are arranged in an open, flattened cluster, attached by hairless stalks. Buds are purplish. Petals hang down as they wither, exposing the developing green fruits
Leaves:
Hairless, shiny, pinnately divided into up to 20 pairs of leaflets, which are divided again into small, sharp-pointed, angular lobes. Smaller leaflets are distributed between the larger ones
