Flowers:
White to pale pink, with shallowly notched petals. Sepals are strongly recurved, and very narrow towards the tip. The light green stalks and receptacle cups are sparsely covered with red glandular hairs. The central disc is conical, and its light green styles are joined into a short column
Leaves:
Pinnately divided into five or seven leaflets, which are shiny, dark green, lined by sharp teeth. Sparsely hairy, at least on the midrib on the underside. Stems are armed with large, backwards-pointing, well-separated thorns. Petioles are covered by smaller red spines
