The corolla is yellowish towards the base, crossed by red veins, and pale pink above, opening to a shallowly three-lobed upper lip and a more deeply two-lobed lower lip The base of the corolla extends sideways to a short, blunt-tipped spur. The calyx is divided to the base into five equally-sized lobes, covered with glandular hairs, as is the (leafless) stem. Flowers are solitary, one per stem
Leaves:
Basal; yellow-green, with reddish-purple veins, and a covering of glandular hairs on the upper surfaces. Around 2 cm long
